In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Vernon Hills; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Illinois are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11:15 amโ3 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (847) 281-7100. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is yusmandarin.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Vernon Hills is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Vernon Hills follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Our first time at Yuโs even though weโve lived here over 20 years. Seemed pricey but this was a special occasion to support a friend. Weโd say it was alright. Not bad but not great. Some things were really good. The honey walnut shrimp was outstanding, as were the scallops. My lemon chicken was plentiful and looked promising, but was disappointingly not sweet enough and not super lemony. The rice was nothing special. Service was also just so so. My lemon chicken was served a full 10 minutes before any of the other dishes and last dish was 5 minutes behind the others. We had no robots, just human servers. So not sure what that talk is about. The revolving table is interesting and the decor gives it a great Mandarin atmosphere. I was joking on the way in their slogan should be Yuโs got it ( like the digital tv station jingle). But Iโm not sure they do.

We ordered last night for my daughter 's birthday. The food was awful. Dry, soup was oiley.. The beef sticks had barely any meat on them, and it was way to dry to eat. We will never order again. Nasty food.

This is the second time at this restaurant. The first time was a year ago and the food was good. This time, however, is terrible. We ordered a few dishes to share such as Orange Beef, Walnut Shrimp, and noodles. The Orange Beef is terrible, cold with no flavor at all. Do not order this dish at $19.95. They didn't have white rice at the time, so the waitress brought out some fried rice. We were happy to see that but the fried rice was not even cooked, cold with a few peas on it. Terrible!! Why did they even serve that to us. We're Asians and we know what's good and bad. Can't fool us with half cooked so called fried rice. They really need to think about that. Overall, it was not good. Find another restaurant in the area. Really hate to say that.

Itโs finally open under new management! The remodeling gives out a new vibe of peace and harmony. Itโs a little confusing at first trying to call the restaurant since the number has been changed and Google hasnโt updated yet. I added a screenshot of their new phone number from their takeout menu. Hope that helps whoever in the same process. Food: as delicious as the other two locations. Dinner portion was good for the price. We had honey glazed walnut shrimp, shredded pork with green chives&bean curd, and fish fillet with sour cabbage. Definitely will visit again for some authentic Chinese food.
